According to the dictionary, a meme is defined as a humorous image, video, piece of text, etc. that is copied (often with slight variations) and spread rapidly by internet users.  Examples of memes can be seen throughout the media, often times easily discoverable throughout social media such as instagram and twitter.  Memes can cover a wide array of topics, including politics, sports, current events, and even religion.
